Its character emerges from two things: the river that borders its western edge, and the dense southern forests that make timber cheap and accessible. The result is a district that smells of sawdust and river water, where carpentry workshops and timber merchants dominate the commercial streets.
The river here widens slightly and slows, making this stretch ideal for the small wharves and loading docks that line the bank. Timber arrives from the south by barge, is processed in the district’s mills and workshops, and distributed throughout the city. Chrysalis is largely built from Evertide timber, and the district maintains a quiet pride in this foundational role.

Population character: Timber workers, carpenters, river labourers, and artificers. The district attracts practically-minded graduates from Snowford and the University who want to apply their training to something tangible. It is one of the few places in Chrysalis where the scholarly east and the working west genuinely mix.
