A Snowford researcher named Vesper has disappeared. She was last seen heading toward the old mine entrance in Dawn Town three days ago, carrying research notes about the tunnels beneath Chrysalis. Her colleagues at the University have filed a missing person report with the city militia, who have done nothing—Dawn Town workers disappear regularly, and one more academic is hardly a priority.
Solenne, who sold Vesper several rare texts on ancient civilisations, believes the researcher discovered something significant about what lies below the city. She’s willing to pay adventurers to find Vesper—or at least recover her research notes—before someone else does.

DM Note: Vesper found one of the sealed mine sections that connects to the broader tunnel network beneath Terra. She followed it down toward Facility 59 but triggered a defensive response from the ancient installation’s automated systems. Characters will need to navigate both the natural dangers of the deep tunnels and the artificial defences left by Terra’s previous civilisation. What they find in the facility—and whether Vesper is still alive when they reach her—depends on how quickly they act.
