Chrysalis City Northern Northward, where the original fortification’s main gate once stood
The most visible remnant of the original ward that gave the district its name. The gatehouse—two thick stone towers with an arched passage between them—was long ago absorbed into the city and repurposed as a covered market hall. The passage itself functions as a permanent arcade of stalls, while the towers house storage above and specialty merchants at street level.
It is the beating commercial heart of Northward and arguably the busiest single spot in Chrysalis at midday, when workers, merchants, researchers from Snowford, and craftspeople from New Church all converge. Virtually anything can be found here given enough patience and coin.

Notable detail: A small shrine to Tymora occupies a niche carved into the inner wall of the northern tower. Merchants leave a coin before opening their stalls each morning. The shrine is old enough that nobody remembers who installed it, which the locals take as a sign it belongs there.
