Backstory
Qourak was born in the Mountain of Tai-Gga and had lived there most of his lifespan. Since living in high altitudes the goliath has acclimated to resist its pressure and oxygen levels. Mt. Tai-Gga has forests covering the base of the mountain, water falls created by the icy top, creating rivers and lakes as it passes down the mountain. Giving nourishment and creating an eco-system livable for the creatures of Mt. Tai-Gga and the residents of village Shiloh. The eco-system mainly consists of poultry, fish, insects, fruits and vegetables. The area within and around Shiloh is open and doesn’t have predators opposing them.
Quorak has been living a life of peacefulness, failures and learning. Growing up, Qourak was always akin to failing the tasks that he did. Doing so, he would opt to try again and not give up. After a couple of tries he accomplishes the tasks with high competence, making the elder chieftain notice Qourak. By studying and practicing his combat through reading and watching his superiors, his combat skill turned out to be remarkable. As he trained he would fail the first time, but never more than once. When defeating his opponents in practice, he would always lend out a hand. This was his sign of showing gratitude for the sparring match. Yet, not every goliath in the Ogolamuune tribe showed the same gratitude
– Some time passes and his day of reaching adulthood comes –
An Ogolamuune tribe tradition known as “Ogo-la-Moon” (Which means “Towards a new Moon”) has been practiced for centuries, it is when a youngling turns 17 they are to be sent up to the top of Mt. Tai-Gga. The journey lasts 1 year as this is a tradition to mark the coming of adulthood. Those who were sent up would be accompanied by a Commander of the Ogolamuune tribe. As they proceed up the mountain, they have to show their capabilities and survivability to reach the top. The commander will only observe and not intervene. Although a harsh tradition, it is to show that they are a valuable asset to the tribe and can contribute with their skills and knowledge.
– A few years pass by serving for the Ogolamuune tribe –
As a young adult. He had become one of few commanders in his tribe. The elder chieftain marks their commanders with a traditional tribe warrior mark as a blessing and a mark akin to their strengths (both of them are a tattoo of some sort) Being in service of the Ogolamuune tribe for years to come
