They meet Dwargon Malachite, Speaker of the Malachite Forges, who asks them to do him a favour: gather intel on how dangerous originium really is, starting by checking out a goblin camp to the north. Along the way they encounter an Ettin on the outskirts of town.

- An old pastry vendor flirts with one of the players; a fisherman mends his nets nearby — flavor/color for the docks scene
- Dwargon is heating his furnace and finishing a blade when the party arrives; he sizes them up and asks where they’re from before making his request
- His actual ask has three parts: gather intel on originium’s danger, check the goblin camp north of town, and question the farmer on the western outskirts
- Mining has been halted town-wide due to tremors
