Titania — both mountain and dormant volcano — looms at the eastern horizon from anywhere in Morain. The mountain has not erupted in recorded memory, but geothermal activity is visible in the lower forests: hot springs, patches of bare mineral ground, and the occasional geyser. The volcanic soil this activity produces is part of what makes the surrounding farmland so rich.

There are also stranger things. The dragon Titania — the great silver wyrm who gave the mountain its name, or perhaps took her name from it — is said to have once made the mountain her roost. Her magic is still felt where she rested, and crystals of an unusual quality grow in certain hidden places on the slopes. Most Morain residents treat this as background knowledge — a thing they grew up knowing, neither frightening nor remarkable. Travellers from elsewhere are often more impressed by it than the locals.
