Tucked into the southern curve of the city walls, east of the river and largely cut off from through-traffic by the waterway and the enclosing stone, Mistheart is the city’s most insular district. It does not announce itself. There are no market stalls, no guild signs, no welcoming tavern fronts. The streets narrow as you move south, the buildings grow older and less uniform, and a persistent low mist—whether natural or maintained—softens the edges of everything.
Mistheart is home to Chrysalis’s advanced magic scholars: those who pursued their studies at Snowford and then went further, past the point where natural philosophy and originium research satisfied them. Where Snowford’s scholars lean toward technology and the observable, Mistheart’s residents are drawn to the arcane, the theological, and the ancient. The district has an uneasy relationship with Chrysalis Labs—the Labs funds some of its research but struggles to quantify its outputs.
Character: Secretive, arcane, self-contained

Worship: Mistheart’s spiritual life is eclectic and largely private. Individual mages maintain personal altars to whichever deity governs their area of study. Rumour holds that there is a concealed shrine somewhere in the district dedicated to a god whose name is not spoken aloud—though whether this is fact or a story the residents encourage to keep visitors away is unclear.
Population character: Advanced mages, magical theorists, retired adventurers who settled for the library access, and the occasional enigmatic figure who may have been living here longer than the district itself. Mistheart residents are not unfriendly—merely self-sufficient. They rarely seek out the rest of the city, and the rest of the city has learned not to push.
