Life here moves with the seasons rather than the concert schedule or the market bell, and Weidenmark supplies much of the produce, wool, and pasture goods that keep the rest of Wien fed and clothed.
The willows that give the district its name line its irrigation channels and field borders, providing both a distinctive look and a steady supply of material for basketry and simple woodcraft — a modest cottage trade alongside the farming itself.
