Backstory
Qourak was born in the Mountain of Tai-Gga and had lived there most of his lifespan. Since living in high altitudes the goliath has acclimated to resist its pressure and oxygen levels. Mt. Tai-Gga has forests covering the base of the mountain, water falls created by the icy top, creating rivers and lakes as it passes down the mountain. Giving nourishment and creating an eco-system livable for the creatures of Mt. Tai-Gga and the residents of village Shiloh. The eco-system mainly consists of poultry, fish, insects, fruits and vegetables. The area within and around Shiloh is open and doesn’t have predators opposing them.
Quorak has been living a life of peacefulness, failures and learning. Growing up, Qourak was always akin to failing the tasks that he did. Doing so, he would opt to try again and not give up. After a couple of tries he accomplishes the tasks with high competence, making the elder chieftain notice Qourak. By studying and practicing his combat through reading and watching his superiors, his combat skill turned out to be remarkable. As he trained he would fail the first time, but never more than once. When defeating his opponents in practice, he would always lend out a hand. This was his sign of showing gratitude for the sparring match. Yet, not every goliath in the Ogolamuune tribe showed the same gratitude
– Some time passes and his day of reaching adulthood comes –
An Ogolamuune tribe tradition known as “Ogo-la-Moon” (Which means “Towards a new Moon”) has been practiced for centuries, it is when a youngling turns 17 they are to be sent up to the top of Mt. Tai-Gga. The journey lasts 1 year as this is a tradition to mark the coming of adulthood. Those who were sent up would be accompanied by a Commander of the Ogolamuune tribe. As they proceed up the mountain, they have to show their capabilities and survivability to reach the top. The commander will only observe and not intervene. Although a harsh tradition, it is to show that they are a valuable asset to the tribe and can contribute with their skills and knowledge.
– A few years pass by serving for the Ogolamuune tribe –
As a young adult. He had become one of few commanders in his tribe. The elder chieftain marks their commanders with a traditional tribe warrior mark as a blessing and a mark akin to their strengths (both of them are a tattoo of some sort) Being in service of the Ogolamuune tribe for years to come

Backstory
Samek belongs to a sect (Brotherhood of Interitus) that worships Boldrei. They believe that in death everything is united into one, but it is not in their place to decide when to welcome them into the family.
Samek is now sent on an inner pilgrimage to become more enlightened and welcome new souls to the family.
The sect is a mostly closed off and secluded bunch. They study and train for their inner pilgrimage. They each specialize in a school that is given to them by their beloved goddess.
On the inner pilgrimage they seek more knowledge and to “recruit” new souls to the family. After their goddess deems their journey well enough they retire to the sects temple and help with the new generation.
Relationships

- Quorak “Adeptus” Ogolamuune — Fellow party member in the Gauntlet of Wien
- Mandron — Fellow party member
- Mundra — Fellow party member
- Heinz Majo — Fellow party member, crafting partner at Hephaestus’ forge challenge (Samek assisted, Heinz made the Holy Canteen)
Notes
- Other notes in the vault list Samek as “Cleric of the Grave,” a follower of Boldrei — slightly different framing than the sect described here (“Brotherhood of Interitus”). Worth reconciling which is canon, or treating the Brotherhood of Interitus as the specific sub-sect within his Cleric of the Grave domain.
- Voice condition: His voice might sound feeble, but when he says his chants and prays his voice awakens and booms with glory for Boldrei.
- Part of the team that won the smithing competition in Hephaestus’ domain (Floor 06 of the Gauntlet) — he and Heinz crafted a Holy Canteen blessed by both Hephaestus and Boldrei, capable of refilling its contents once per day.
- During the long rest watch rotation, Samek cast Detect Magic and discovered the grey ooze hiding nearby, and was the one who first communicated with the kenku who later joined the party (mimicked his words, eventually saying “Me Samek”).

Backstory

Description
Bonds
Flaws
Tror han kan greie alt!
Er litt overlegen.

- The group splits: Mandron, Samek, and Heinz go south and find a stone door, which Samek starts battering with his mace — waking dormant shadows
- Mundra and Quorak go north and find another stone door, struggling against the shadows due to lacking magical weapons
- Samek, Mandron, and Heinz deal with their shadows swiftly; Mandron’s magical katana proves essential. They come to the aid of Mundra and Quorak to finish the fight

Notes
Description
Zander very much looks like a stereotypical “Hot Boi”. While he is a Hexblood, those unfamiliar with that race might instead think him a nymph or dryad. His skin is a soft spring green and his eyes the golden yellow of autumn leaves. His ears are pointed, almost elvish, but are forked at the tips. He’s strong, but not overly muscular - more of a lean “swimmer’s body” kind of deal. His hair is the brown of rich, healthy soil, and a crown of branches grow from his skin (he very deliberately styles his hair to try to cover the fact that this is actually attached to his skin, not just an odd choice of accessory). Otherwise, he has a strong jawline, high cheekbones and a killer smile.
So, yes. Despite his race… “Hot Boi”.
Ideals
People: I’m committed to the people I care about, not to ideals. (Neutral)
Bonds
I was brought to this plane to protect my sister, and even now I would lay down my life for her.
Flaws
I’m quick to assume that someone is trying to cheat or trick me.
Personality Traits
I tend to act on instinct before thinking things through.
Despite being a distrustful person, I always want to see the best in people.
Motivations
- Currently “finding himself” now that his life’s original purpose — protecting his sister — is no longer urgently needed
Backstory
Appeared as a 6-year-old when his parents (minor nobility somewhere else) bartered with a hag for someone to protect their newborn daughter. There was a prophecy connected to the daughter, now known as Lysandra the Lightbringer. Zander spent his whole life dedicated to protecting her while she fulfilled her purpose — the two consider each other siblings, despite the circumstances of his creation. Now that the danger to Lysandra has passed, Zander travels, trying to “find himself.”
Relationships
- Lysandra the Lightbringer — The sister Zander was created to protect; the two regard each other as siblings
- Ambystoma — Fellow party member in the original Flesh to Dust party
- Gwen — Fellow party member
- Thrum Stoneheart — Fellow party member
- Gizzard — Fellow party member
Notes
- Joined the original party (Ambystoma, Gwen, Thrum, Gizzard) for the first session of the Flesh to Dust investigation in Malachite.
- Notably encountered the silver man construct guardian on the Highland plateau during the “Geometry and silver” session — engaged it in a flexing contest (briefly “taken” to the highlands mid-scene) and was cheered on by nearby goliaths, charging the dodecahedron (space) shape during the elemental geometry sequence.
- Investigated the outer storage facility in Chrysalis alongside Gwen, contributing a notable Investigation roll (21) toward uncovering the hidden library and portal room.
