Malachite’s Old District, with a chapter house in Chrysalis City’s New Church district
The sworn hand that holds the dark below — every foothold Lolth reaches for, the Silver Hand means to cut away, the same as Tyr always has.
Overview
The Silver Hand are Tyr’s sworn knighthood on Terra, built around a single doctrine: their god has never once let one of Lolth’s footholds stand, and mortals who share his oath owe him the same. They take their name and sigil — an open silver hand, fingers spread as if closing on something — from Tyr’s own epithet, the Maimed God. However he came to be maimed isn’t a story the order tells the same way twice; his knights treat the wound as a promise kept rather than a weakness, and wear the hand’s likeness as a reminder that Tyr has already paid a price for this fight and has shown up for it every time since.
Membership is bound by an unbreakable vow rather than by birth or bloodline — anyone willing to swear it and hold to it is welcome in the ranks, drow included, provided they can prove where their loyalty actually sits. Publicly, the order reads as an itinerant knighthood: monster hunters, licensed arbiters, occasional escorts for merchant caravans through dangerous country. Privately, every one of those postings doubles as a watch rotation on some known route up from below.

Location: Headquartered in Malachite’s Old District, near the town’s known tunnel entrance into The Underdark. Maintains a public chapter house in Chrysalis City’s New Church district, alongside The Grand Pantheon.
Public Projects: Escort and monster-hunting contracts that fund the order; itinerant arbitration in towns without a standing court; joint upkeep of Boldrei’s old wardstones in the tunnels alongside the Church of Boldrei.
Branches
- The Vigil — knights-militant, the order’s front-line combatants and the first to take the Vow
- The Chantry — clergy and healers, tending the order’s wounded and its public reputation
- The Wardens — scouts and watchers stationed at known Underdark entrances, including Malachite’s tunnel
- (unlisted publicly) The Silver Syndicate — the order’s deniable hand, working the routes and recruits no knight in silver could touch
Projects
- Watch on the Old District Tunnel — a standing Warden rotation monitoring Malachite’s known Underdark entrance for drow movement.
- The Al’ar Question — a quiet inquiry into how much of Al’ar’s underdark mapping and RALA dealings trace back to Lolth’s interests rather than simple ambition.
- Knighting Trials — the order’s periodic vow-taking ceremony, held publicly to keep recruitment visible even as a share of each cohort disappears into Warden postings.
Reputation
Publicly well-regarded — a knighthood that takes its contracts seriously and settles disputes fairly, in Tyr’s own style. Some find them rigid or unnecessarily secretive about internal matters, which the order lets stand rather than correct. Nobody outside the order’s own leadership is known to connect it to the Silver Syndicate; if that link ever surfaced, the order’s reputation for uncompromising justice would take the hit.
Background
No clergy or knighthood of Tyr is documented on Terra before the Silver Hand — as far as the wiki currently records, this order is the first organized expression of his worship here. Its founding story isn’t written yet: whether it formed in direct response to a specific breach, grew out of Malachite’s dwarven temple culture, or something else entirely is open for you to decide.
